If like me you write tons of ad-hoc queries in SQL Server 2005 Management Studio then you may get annoyed by having lots of tabs called ‘Servername.DBna…SQLQueryXX.sql’.
Management Studio isn’t even smart enough to name them something sensible when you right-click a View, Store Procedure, or Function and do Alter.
There is an article on connect which states this isn’t fixed until Katmai.
There’s also a workaround posted by Erland Sommarskog which puts the behaviour back to how it was in Query Analyser
1. Click Tools > Options…
2. Expand the Environment node and click General
3. Under “Environment Layout”, select the “MDI Environment” option button
4. Click OK
